Venue
Not yet 100% confirmed, but likely to be Wapsbourne Manor
Transport:
- transportdirect
- bus 246
- bluebell railway - there's a bus journey connect to mainline services so not very practical, and it's rather pricey, but might be some people's cup of tea. There's a group discount if we travel in groups of 10 or more and pre-book.
More info:
- Wapsbourne Manor Farm is 45mins by train (£16) from London Victoria/Bridge to Haywards Heath, and then a 15 minute cab journey (£10). one of the guys on site has a 16 seater van and may be available to do a group hire for taxi runs etc.
- the camp has three large fields, we can have the back field all to ourselves (okay for 50 people)
- we can have a sheltered indoor open area with tables and chairs, not shared with other campers
- they can set up a kitchen area with two gas stoves, fridge and freezer suitable for communal cooking
- showers/toilets are next to the indoor area (but forgot to ask if they will be shared with other campers)
- there is wireless internet, electricity and fire wood available for £5 per basket (last one night)
- there is a no radio radio policy (no bass), but they seem okay about there being musicians and having a party night (they didn't seem phased when i said it was likely to be electronic/computer music, but should double check this)
- with a group discount it will cost £7 per night per camper (£21 each /£1050 for the group for 3 nights)
- if we wanted to splash out there is a yurt available for £84 per night
- further details and pictures of the site can be seen on the uk campsite directory, but they should be sending over some pictures shortly
