another happy dorkbot-nyc meeting was held on 04.sept.2002 at the Columbia University Computer Music Center.
it featured the lovely and talented:
Geoff Matters: GDAM open-source software for live music performance, remixing, and digital dj-mixing. The programming approach and user interface will be discussed, features will be demonstrated including assisted beatmatching, time-distortion filters, and support for hardware controllers.
douglas repetto: screening of the short ArtBots video, plus a presentation of his ArtBots piece do not break anything (after christian wolff) and some other recent projects.
Steven Yi: a presentation on two programs, blue and patterns. both of them are composition environments for use with csound. blue is based on the idea of soundObjects, and includes a timeline which may have polyObjects that have timelines within them (timelines within timelines). patterns is a pattern-based edittor that features a pattern bank and grid edittor. both feature an orchestra manager to manage csound instruments, as well as other features to aid in managing information for csound.
