Damion Hayes, editor of Dodge and Burn, and artists Karolina Sobecka and Lars Bergquist will discuss art with urban influences.

Damion Hayes

Jesse Edwards Damion Hayes is the Director of BLVD Gallery in Seattle and editor of Dodge and Burn. He has been instrumental in fostering the Seattle Urban art scene by producing large scale exhibitions for One Reel, Red Bull, and Vera Project. Dodge&Burn is a Seattle based Visual Arts and Culture magazine focusing primarily on the "Urban Contemporary" Lifestyle, featuring artists who are offering a unique perspective whether it be social commentary, myth making, personal expression, mass marketing, fine art or kitsch. Damion will share his perspective on the urban art scene.

Karolina Sobecka

text_v1 Artist Karolina Sobecka explores the use of interactive projections and video in urban environments. She will discuss some of her experiences layering video over an urban cityscape.

Lars Bergquist

bergquist Lars Bergquist is a Seattle-based artist who creates work influenced by his surroundings under the movement No Touching Ground (NTG). Bergquist states: NTG is a reminder to people that we have the power to change what is going on in our personal lives and to change what is going on around us ... It is a reminder that limits are placed on ourselves, by ourselves. Lars will be sharing his philosophy and experiences of deploying his work in urban environments. See photos of his recent work.
