public art installation
THE POETRY MACHINE!
Try out the artwork before it embarks on its week-long
tour of public venues in and
around Seattle, from SeaTac International Airport to Seattle
Center! Reconstruct
couplets of famous poets with words from daily life, or
improvise your own poetry
through the movements of your body inside the booth!
ALSO
Join a lively panel discussion on public art in
this region! Moderated by writer and
activist JOHN BOYLAN, hear public artists with 100 YEARS
OF COMBINED EXPERIENCE
in both creating and commissioning works of art in public
places and spaces in Seattle,
the West Coast and beyond discuss the strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities and
challenges facing artists and administrators in this field.
